Once the dog has received all necessary medical and/or behavioral rehabilitation, he/she can attend adoption events and their forever can be obtained. The adoption process allows for a week of fostering to determine suitability to the family and home. Check out our available dogs to see if we have the perfect pup for you!
In order to provide more comfortable and supportive care for dogs awaiting adoption and to preserve room at the shelter we have a foster home program. Anyone wanting to become a foster home for our dogs please call 928-232-2611.
This program provides shelter services to the Town of Wickenburg for lost, stray, or abandoned dogs through the Wickenburg Police Department (WPD). During the shelter stay, each dog receives shelter, food, water, nurturing, medical care, and one-on-one loving care. Also, each dog is behaviorally evaluated for special needs to assist in proper care. The shelter program also allows for community surrendering on a case-by-case basis depending on evaluation and available space.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAM
